Room 3 fabulous large comfy four poster bed. Very quiet side room, very spacious well decorated. Evening meal took nearly an hour despite us being nearly the only ones in. Roast beef dinner was truly awful.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner here last weekend whilst staying at Hnderwell. Good honest food at reasonable prices, paired with good old fashioned customer service. It's not flash, but it's a great place for a relaxed evening of pub grub and ale. Mussels were apparently top notch, I thoroughly enjoyed my parmo, and the beer was well kept too. We look forward to our return.

Stayed here a few time ,rooms been done up to a nice and clean standard, could have done with bedside table lights and mayed be towel rails in bathroom

A great location for the Cleveland Way walk, note it is at the top of Runswick Bay rather than the actual village down the hill. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and a great place to rest up ready for the walk the next day. The food in the evening and breakfast was excellent, good portions and very tasty. Would recommend.

We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating our Golden Wedding Celebration at the Runswick Bay Hotel (10/8/24). The meal was great - all our guests were impressed with the wide range of options on the menu, and even more impressed with the food which was all delicious and served to the tables very efficiently and smoothly. The room that we had for our private use was perfect for a group size of 20-30 and Nicola happily made sure that everything we required was taken care of.  We live locally so didn't stay overnight but some family guests did and they spoke very highly of their room and their breakfast.

Great location in the upper village of Runswick, however, could do with a link of paint outside, food was stodgy, over cooked and we wouldn't return. Views and atmosphere fantastic.

Great location. Good room. Food- though you might think the quantity is smaller than expected the quality is excellent. Full English breakfast was amazing.

Bartender was very friendly at the bar. Drinks were lovely and not overly expensive. Very enjoyable experience and will be back before we head back to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The public house is only open at weekends so avoid at all costs. Despite the extremely cold weather the fires were left unlit and no central heating. Poor

Stopped here whilst walking the Cleveland way and found the staff to be so approachable, friendly and accommodating however I’d say they are understaffed. Service is a tad slow but we weren’t in any hurry. The room was amazing, bright, fresh and airy - my fav stopover on the CW so far.

We were staying nearby and popped in one evening on the way back from the beach - luckily they had one table left so booking definitely advisable. We had all our beach gear with us but no one batted an eyelid. Very friendly place and dogs welcome too. Although busy, the staff were attentive and clearly all working very hard. We waited around half an hour for food once ordered, but when it came it was piping hot and delicious. I had the wok chicken with 50/50 rice and chips, other half had the pie and our eldest went for the burger. All fantastic! Reasonably priced too. Definitely recommended, just allow plenty of time for your food to be cooked to order and enjoy a relaxed meal.

05/08/23 Nicola's attentiveness and service have made a positive impression on our time here. The restaurant's warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with her excellent service, undoubtedly enhances the dining experience. Happy dining! When you get here 30/07/22 update. Nicola makes this place special. Lamb Chops tonight were to die for. With an updated decor and friendly pub dog (Ted) this really is a place not to miss! ... The Bar & Restaurant is a welcome pit-stop after walking up the bank of Runswick Bay and for continuing along the Cleveland Way. The food offer is extensive and reasonably priced. The larger mains are always very tasty and the accompanying chips and vegetable side dishes are always cooked to perfection. The lovely thing about this place is that if you just want a drink that is OK too. Nicola, Hayley and the team always make you very welcome.

Stayed here last night as a stop over on part of the Cleveland way. Excellent customer service. Food great both evening neal and breakfast I would highly recommend.

Fantastic staff who nothing was too much for them. Friendly welcoming and good sense of humour. Food was excellant freshly cooked produce, home made preserves, and butter. Rooms were lovely and comfortable and fridge, coffee machine in all rooms. Would definatley go again
